What is “The Commons” sexual health service about?

Sexual Health Service “The Commons” of Department of Health provides regular follow up to gay man or transgender people having higher risk of acquiring sexually transmitted illnesses. Service scope includes:

  • Annual sexual health assessment;
  • Regular screening for Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, HIV and viral hepatitis;
  • Assessment for symptomatic sexually transmitted illnesses;
  • Sexually transmitted infection treatment and
  • Counselling for sexual and emotional health.

Service introduction:



This service is for member only. Referral can be obtained designated NGOs and complete self-referral form for initial assessment.

Member should be aged 16 or above, living in Hong Kong and eligible to have public subsided medical service, tested negative for HIV within past 3 months (either rapid test or blood test), being a gay man or transgender person and have high sexual risk behaviour.

To join membership, initial assessment on sexual risk shall be performed first.
