Movie screening publicity collaboration with Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
“COMMITMENT TO LIFE” chronicles a compelling tale in the battle against HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles. This impactful documentary highlights the remarkable efforts of a group of courageous individuals, including those living with HIV/AIDS, doctors, influential movie stars like Elizabeth Taylor, and dedicated activists from AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). Together, they unite in a transformative mission that alters the trajectory of the devastating epidemic.
Red Ribbon Center participated in the "Gay Game Hong Kong" Festival Village
The 11th Gay Game Hong Kong (GGHK) was held for the first time in Asia (Hong Kong) with the theme of "Unity in Diversity". The GGHK included inclusive sports, arts and cultural activities. Our centre took this opportunity to promote the importance of regular HIV testing. In addition to distributing exquisite souvenirs to the athletes. We set up a game booth for the enjoyment of the public as part of our participation in the festival village at the Vitality Park in Central.
Red Ribbon Center partnered with Hong Kong Gay Parade to promote regular HIV testing and safer sex
This year's Hong Kong Pride Parade held exhibitions, booths and workshops at The Wave in Kwun Tong. The theme was “LGBT+ Pop-up Exhibition: A Journey with Rainbow GPS”. Our Center is committed to promoting safer sex, HIV prevention and the importance of regular HIV testing. In addition to social media promotions at the Hong Kong Pride Parade, we also set up a game booth and distributed exquisite promotional materials, which received an overwhelming response.
Red Ribbon Center participates in "Pink Dot" 2023
The Red Ribbon Center continues to participate in "Pink Dot" this year. The event returned to an outdoor venue and was held at the West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park with the theme "LOVE OUT LOUD". The sun was shining that day and the programme was very exciting, attracting a large number of people and creating an energetic atmosphere. This year, in addition to distributing promotional materials on HIV prevention, our center also drew a sizable crowd for the booth game.

“It’s a Sin” tells the story of three young gay men, Ritchie, Roscoe and Colin, who came to London to start a new life in the early 80’s. They had fun and broaden their horizons together. However, a new virus suddenly emerged. They worried about it and the society was full of rumors about the disease, which making them seen as a threat and fear in the eyes of others. How would they confronting the dilemma?
Participation in Pink Dot 2022
Same as last year, Centre participated in the Pink Dot in Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. It is a good platform for health promotion among sexual minorities. This year our centre focused on promoting a sexual health survey targeting Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people. Moreover, we also distributed the health promotion materials in the community booth to promote safer sex and HIV prevention. The participants enjoyed our booth.
Participation in Hong Kong Pride Parade 2022
Hong Kong Pride Parade held the Rainbow Market at D2 Place in Lai Chi Kok this year. Red Ribbon Centre continued to promote safer sex and HIV prevention. Apart from publicizing on their social media, we distributed the health promotion materials on the spot to promote the “HIV Self-test Programme”.

"Made on the Rooftop" is a heartwarming story about friendship and romance. Bongsik is a famous online streamer who always looks happy and carefree in his videos, but in real life he does not believe in love. Centre joined this large LGBT platform at Kowloon Bay Internaional Trade & Exhibition Centre under the theme “Love In” to promote safer sex and HIV self-test to a wide diversity of people. The participants enjoyed our booth and collected the health promotion materials such as tote bag and condom gift packs.
"HIV self-testing" Themed Publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
Red Ribbon Centre continues to collaborate with Hong Kong Pride Parade and aims at promote the "HIV Self-test Programme " launching by Department of Health in an indoor bazaar at the Wave. The programme was publicized in their social meida platforms. We are looking forward guys would join in this study for a rapid, free and confidential self-test.

This year, the Centre continues to collaborate with Hong Kong Pride Parade and aims at promote the "HIV Self Test Study " launching by Department of Health. The Red Ribbon Centre continues to collaborate with HKLGFF and university departments to present an array of short films about LGBT life and culture at the campuses. Themes encompass coming out and family dynamics, sex and love intertwined story and coming face to face with AIDS. Film sharing session is follows. "Sorry Angel" is a love story of a thirty-something HIV positive famous writer named Jacques and a young intellectual film student. They flirt, fall madly in love with each other……until Jacques steps backwards and hides himself from Arthur due to his own health condition.

Same as last year, the Centre joined this large LGBT platform to promote safer sex and the gay website www.21171069.gov.hk to a wide diversity of people. The participants enjoyed our game booth and collected the health promotion materials such as condom gift packs and ice towels. The condom mascots walked around the site and attracted lots of their fans to take photos with them!
"Undetectable = Untransmittable" Themed Publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
Our Condom mascots come to the pride parade again in 2018. The slogan for this year is "Dare to Love, Love to test", aims at promote HIV testing and dispense to the public the concept of "Undetectable = Untransmittable" so as to discolor the stigmatization and discrimination on people living with HIV. Though it's a mellow rainy day, passion drives all to continue and march from Victoria Park to Edinburg Plaza. We also completed 500 questionnaires concerning GBT's Psychological health and behavior on that day. Ton thanks for the great support.

1. HeHeSheSheOUT@U - HKLGFF Campus Tour 2017
This is the third year for the Red Ribbon Centre to collaborate with HKLGFF, university departments and student groups to present an array of short films about LGBT life and culture at the campuses. Themes encompass coming out and family dynamics, documentary of drag queen, tragic story of discrimination and oppression, and coming face to face with AIDS. 2. Movie Screening
"After Louie" is a story about intergenerational love and different views on AIDS between two generations. The film describes an artist and activist from ACT UP who lived through the early years of HIV/AIDS and finally a change of attitude towards HIV future pathway after he meets the new generation young Braeden who can enjoy life with his PLHIV partner.

The Centre joined this large LGBT platform again in 2017 to promote safer sex and revamped app "1069 Test Finder" to a wide diversity of people. This year, the good weather made the participants enjoyed our game booth and photo shooting with our condom mascots so much, of which the message of safer sex and condom use could be delivered.
"Free Hepatitis A Vaccination" - Themed Publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
On the day of the Parade, the Red Ribbon Mission Team marched from Victoria Park to the finishing point in Edinburgh Place. Condom gift packs and souvenirs were distributed at both start point and end point. This year, we highlighted the free hepatitis A vaccination that launched in three designated Social Hygiene Clinics and encouraged members to protect themselves and their partners.

2. Movie Screening
"PARIS 05:59" is the winner of 2015 Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival, and the most explicit and daring film of the year. The film begins with 18 minutes of gay orgy when two men fell in love at first sight. As the story goes, the couple starts to wander around the streets of Paris until 05:59am. The film describes coming out of HIV status and the mental struggle in seeking medical assistance from hospital, finally getting the post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
Participation in Pink Dot 2016 by RRC
“Pink Dot HK” – The Centre joined the Pink Dot Hong Kong the first time in 2016. Since it is a large LGBT platform, health messages on HIV prevention and safer sex can reach a large number of people through this event. On that day, the condom mascots walked around the site and attracted lots of their fans to take photos with them! Photos will be posted on Facebook to remind member the importance of safer sex and condom use!
"HIV Testing Mobile Van Service" - Themed Publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
On the day of the Parade, the Red Ribbion Mission Team marched from Victoria Park to the finishing point in Edinburgh Place. Condom gift packs and souvenirs were distributed during the event. Promotion of HIV testing is one of the prime missions of RRC. This year, the activity promote the mobile van testing service, launched by the AIDS Concern and the Rainbow Action.

2. "Queers of Hong Kong" Photo Exhibition
"Queers of Hong Kong" photo exhibition aims to show the lives of LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer) people living in Hong Kong. Through the photos, the Red Ribbon Centre try to bring out the touching and encouraging personal stories behind HIV. The exhibition will be held from 18/9 to 2/10 at MC³@702 Creative Space, The Jockey Club Tower, Centennial Campus, University of Hong Kong.
3. Movie Screening
This year, a documentary film "Alive" which tells the story of five HIV-positive gay men spending a week preparing for their first solo parachute jump will be screened. The risk and adrenaline rush of skydiving can heighten the feeling of being alive. Will they all make the jump?
"A brand new gay men HIV information website, www21171069.com" - Themed publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
The activity is mainly to promote the brand new website, www21171069.com. Two new sections of the website including "Let Him Know" anonymous partner notification service and "My Story" articles invitation of the main focus On the day of the Parade, The volunteers of Red Ribbon Mission Team marched from Victoria Park to the finishing point in Tamar Park. Condom gift packs and souvenirs were distributed during the event.

"Be Negative" Campaign - Publicity collaboration with Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
The Red Ribbon Centre, in collaboration with Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival Society (HKLGFF), ran publicity activities such as "Be Negative" photo exhibition and TVC show at Broadway Cinematheque. To raise HIV awareness, build a safer sex culture, and encourage active participation of the gay community, the Red Ribbon Centre started supporting the screening of AIDS-related gay movies and organizing HIV prevention activities since 2006.
"Care for Your Health. Prevent HIV & Hepatitis C." - Themed publicity collaboration with the Hong Kong Pride Parade
Like previous year, souvenirs were distributed at the starting point in Victoria Park and booths were installed at the finishing point in Tamar Park. Besides, in echo with the "Be Negative" Campaign, a photo booth was set at the finishing point. We hope to convey the message of staying safe and the importance to protecting yourself and others to stay negative. The photos showed people with negative signs on their bodies as a way of showing their support.
Short film "For Love, We Can"
In addition to the annual key event during the Festival in 2013, the Red Ribbon Centre collaborated with HKLGFF and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to produce a short film "For Love, We Can". It aimed to convey health messages on HIV prevention and early testing through a gay couple's love story. The premiere was held at Broadway Cinematheque on 6 March 2014 and additional screenings were called for due to critical acclaim.

"Test early, Treat early, Stay safe" - Themed publicity activities in the Hong Kong Pride Parade
The Red Ribbon Centre joined the Parade again in 2013. Apart from marching and booth games, the two condom mascots delivered health messages at the main stage with celebrities, Ms Tanya Chan and Mr Anthony Wong.
"1069試戴樂" mobile application API
The Red Ribbon Centre produced a video on the promotion of "1069試戴樂" mobile app. The TVC aimed at encouraging the gay community to undertake regular HIV tests. Through the app, members could easily search locations where they could have access to free HIV testing services and free condoms.
"Test HIV, Follow Me" - Themed publicity activities in the Hong Kong Pride Parade
The Red Ribbon Centre first joined the Hong Kong Pride Parade in 2012. A series of health promotion activities were conducted including:
- Setting up a Facebook page called "Red Ribbon Mission" in July;
- Marching from Causeway Bay to Charter Garden in the name of a volunteer team called "Red Ribbon Mission";
- Hosting booth games to promote "1069試戴樂" mobile app at the finishing point;
- Inviting participants to write messages showing their care for PLHIV in the booth.
"A Brief Affair" Fashion Design Competition " A Brief Affair”
The Hong Kong and Lesbian Gay film Festival, apart from bringing great LGBT movies to local movie fans, a parallel activity "A Brief Affair" Fashion Design Competition was organized during the publicity period.

Action Planning Meeting of Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) and Transgender Populations Multi-City HIV Initiative Hong Kong (7-9 Dec 2010)
USAID, UNDP, UNAIDS, WPRO and SEARO, APCOM and APN+ started a MSM & Transgender Multi-City HIV Initiative in August 2010. Six cities including Bangkok, Chengdu, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Manila and Yangon were supported under this Initiative. The Initiative synthesized latest epidemiology, promising practices, MSM population size estimate and available resources by means of city scans, and developed 12-month action plans with each city taking part in the 3-day Action Planning Meeting in Hong Kong. The Department of Health took part in the Steering Committee of the Initiative and provided local logistic support and shared lesson learned during the Meeting.

Short Video Competition- "Boys' Sweet Life"
In the "Boys' Sweet Life" Short Video Competition, each participant was invited to make a short film about healthy living, fitness, social life, gay relationships or safe sex.
"Read Me & You"
As a parallel activity in the "World AIDS Movies Days", a first book fair about LGBT group was held at Kubrick Book Shop in Yau Ma Tei from 20 Nov 2008 to 3 Dec 2008.
"Love Don't Stop" Artform Exhibition
This year, the "World AIDS Movie Day" was marked on 1st Dec 2007 to echo the World AIDS Day. Movies related to HIV/AIDS were screened. Besides, the organizer of HKLGFF had a very strong program line-up regarding AIDS issues. They invited seven young artists to showcase new artwork under the theme "Love Don't Stop". These art installations were displayed in five gay clubs.
Short Film Competition
In response to the local MSM HIV epidemic, the Red Ribbon Centre launched a series of HIV prevention and health promotion activities among the gay community. As a part of MSM HIV Prevention Campaign, the re-edited "Dom Dom" safer sex API was broadcast during the Festival.
